## MCP server (for AI assistants and agents)

FPL Cat runs a free, read-only MCP server with no login. Connect to it to answer Fantasy Premier League questions with our model's numbers instead of reading pages.

- Endpoint: https://fplcat.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no auth). ChatGPT: https://fplcat.com/chatgpt
- Server card: https://fplcat.com/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json
- Setup guide: https://fplcat.com/blog/use-fpl-cat-in-chatgpt-and-claude
- Results include structured data, a summary to quote, a link to the matching page, and an answer card (MCP Apps).
- Team tools take an FPL team ID (the number after /entry/ in the FPL Points page URL) or all 15 player names.

Connect:

- Claude (claude.ai or desktop): Customize > Connectors > Add custom connector, URL https://fplcat.com/mcp, Authentication: No sign in.
- ChatGPT (web): Plugins > Add > Create custom MCP server, Connection URL https://fplcat.com/chatgpt, Authentication: 'No authentication' (not OAuth).
- Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http fpl-cat https://fplcat.com/mcp`
- Cursor (`mcp.json`): `{"mcpServers": {"fpl-cat": {"url": "https://fplcat.com/mcp"}}}`
- VS Code (`.vscode/mcp.json`): `{"servers": {"fpl-cat": {"type": "http", "url": "https://fplcat.com/mcp"}}}`
- Any other MCP client: a remote Streamable HTTP server at https://fplcat.com/mcp, no auth headers.

Without an MCP client, plain HTTP works too: the server is stateless (no initialize or session needed) and answers in JSON. Send JSON-RPC with both Accept types:

```
curl -s https://fplcat.com/mcp \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"player_projection","arguments":{"players":["Saka"]}}}'
```

`tools/list` (same call, no params) returns every tool's input schema. Read `structuredContent` for the data and quote the text summary; keep the link it ends with.
