How we pick it
Every player gets projected points for each of the next 6 gameweeks from our model: minutes, goals, assists, clean sheets, DEFCON, saves and bonus, adjusted for each fixture and for team news. We then search every legal squad (2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders, 3 forwards, at most 3 from a club, within budget) for the one whose best XI and captain score most, with later gameweeks counting a little less because your team will change.
The free hit version looks at the next gameweek only. Prices are today's; projections update daily, so the squad does too. It doesn't know your selling prices or which players you already own: for advice on your own squad, use Rate My Team.
