How ĐOGERI Reached FPL Number One: The Road to 735 Points

Snapshot: Sunday 1 November 2026, 20:32 UTC. ĐOGERI is number one in the official FPL overall standings with 735 points, three ahead of Jake Crow Sliced Jam. Gameweek 9 is still open: Newcastle–Everton is scheduled for Monday, and ranks and points can still change. None of ĐOGERI's GW9 players is involved in that match.

The route to the top started at 279,827th after GW1. It included a 136-point Bench Boost, a Free Hit that finished below the gameweek average, a single four-point hit, and a Wildcard that has just lifted the team from tenth to first.

We pulled fresh official standings, the team's history and transfers, and combined them with our production database's stored squads and player scores. Here is what actually happened, week by week. You can follow the latest snapshot on ĐOGERI's team page.

The climb from 279,827th to first

Gameweek Points after hits FPL average Running total Overall rank Captain Chip
GW1 74 50 74 279,827 Bruno Fernandes —
GW2 136 81 210 1,138 Bruno Fernandes Bench Boost
GW3 50 51 260 4,235 Haaland Free Hit
GW4 100 69 360 812 Isak —
GW5 56 48 416 714 Haaland —
GW6 85 58 501 212 Rogers —
GW7 100 59 601 7 Haaland Triple Captain
GW8 52 45 653 10 Haaland —
GW9, so far 82 42 735 1 Haaland Wildcard

GW6's gross score was 89; the four-point transfer hit reduces it to 85. The FPL average is the game's published average score, not a hit-adjusted comparison. GW9's average and rank are still provisional.

The first big jump came early, but this wasn't a team that reached the top and simply stayed there. GW3 sent it backwards. GW4 brought the first top-1,000 finish, GW7 brought the first top-ten finish, and GW9 has supplied the move to first.

GW2: Bruno's 46 points, plus a 21-point bench

ĐOGERI made no transfers for GW2 and kept the armband on Bruno Fernandes. That captaincy had produced just four points in GW1. A week later, Bruno scored 23, doubled to 46.

The Bench Boost supplied another 21 points from Kinsky (1), Hume (6), Calvert-Lewin (8) and Davis (6). Groß and Haaland contributed 13 each. The result was 136 points against an 81-point average, taking the team from 279,827th to 1,138th.

It is useful to separate the chip from the full score. The bench added 21; the other 115 came from the selected XI, including captaincy. Both mattered, but the biggest individual contribution was Bruno's armband.

GW3: the Free Hit setback

The next move was much more aggressive: a Free Hit with 11 recorded player changes. Foden, Cherki, Isak and Wissa were among the arrivals. Haaland took over the captaincy.

It returned 50 points, one below the gameweek average, and the overall rank slipped to 4,235. Haaland's nine became 18; Isak added 13. Those two supplied most of the score.

That is a poor result relative to the field, but it doesn't prove that playing the Free Hit lost points. To make that claim, we would need to compare it with a credible alternative lineup from the underlying squad. The actual record tells us that this particular chip week interrupted the climb.

The Free Hit squad was temporary. Its changes should not be counted as permanent transfers, and the reversion afterwards was not another buying spree.

GW4–6: back into the top 1,000, then up to 212th

In GW4, ĐOGERI bought Isak permanently for Calvert-Lewin and replaced Bruno with Rogers. Isak was captained but scored only two points, doubled to four. The team still reached 100: Groß supplied 17, while Raya and Davis returned 14 apiece.

That week is a useful counterweight to GW2. The captain didn't deliver; the rest of the squad did. The overall rank improved to 812.

GW5's 56 points moved the team to 714th. New signing Branthwaite contributed eight, Groß scored 14, and Haaland's captaincy added 12.

The only hit so far came in GW6: Tzolis and Isak out, Palmer and Kostoulas in. Rogers was captain for 18 points, De Cuyper supplied 15 and João Pedro 12. An 89-point gross score became 85 after the hit, enough to climb to 212th.

GW7: Triple Captain takes the team into the top ten

Haaland scored 13 points in GW7. Triple Captain turned that into 39, helping ĐOGERI reach another 100-point gameweek and jump from 212th to seventh.

The chip's extra contribution was 13 points over ordinary captaincy, rather than all 39. Kostoulas also returned 12 and Raya nine, so there was support beyond the captain.

GW8 was quieter: 52 points, with Haaland contributing 16 and Konsa 14. That was above the 45-point average, but the rank still slipped from seventh to tenth. Beating the average manager does not necessarily mean beating the handful of teams around you at the top.

Every permanent transfer before the Wildcard

Outside the Free Hit and Wildcard, the history records seven transfers and one four-point hit.

Gameweek Out In Hit that week
GW4 Calvert-Lewin; Bruno Fernandes Isak; Rogers 0
GW5 Shaw Branthwaite 0
GW6 Tzolis; Isak Palmer; Kostoulas 4
GW7 Hume Konsa 0
GW8 Branthwaite Muharemović 0

There were no transfers for GW2. The public record gives us the moves and their timing, but not the manager's reasoning. We can describe the results without pretending to know why each decision was made.

GW9: five Wildcard signings, 43 points

The Wildcard was activated on Saturday morning before the GW9 deadline. It changed five players, keeping ten from the existing squad.

Sold Bought New signing's GW9 points so far
João Pedro Nicolas Jackson 9
Mbeumo Rayan 3
M. Sangaré Manzambi 7
Calafiori Van Hecke 15
Kostoulas Evanilson 9

All five started. Together, they have supplied 43 of the team's 82 points. That is their contribution to the score, not a claim that the Wildcard gained 43 points over keeping the old team.

Van Hecke's 15 is the standout return. Jackson and Evanilson have delivered nine each, while the retained De Cuyper and Rogers also scored nine and Palmer eight. Haaland managed only two, doubled to four. This rise to number one has come despite a modest captain score.

The current team

The latest public squad is the GW9 deadline team, in a 3-4-3, with Haaland captain and Nicolas Jackson vice-captain. It is not a view of any private transfers made for GW10.

ĐOGERI: GW9 deadline squad. Points as of 2026-11-01T20:32 UTC; captain doubled; bench shown separately.

The starting XI is Kinsky; De Cuyper, Muharemović, Van Hecke; Manzambi, Rayan, Rogers, Palmer; Jackson, Haaland and Evanilson.

Raya is the reserve goalkeeper. The outfield bench order is Groß, Konsa, Davis. Those four have 18 points between them, including ten from Konsa, but none counts towards the team's 82. Even the current leader has returns sitting on the bench.

The GW9 history records a £102.4m squad value and £2.3m in the bank at the deadline. Those are recorded deadline values, not a current selling-value calculation.

Which chips have been used?

Chip Gameweek Team score What the numbers show
Bench Boost 2 136 21 points from the four bench players
Free Hit 3 50 One below the 51-point average
Triple Captain 7 100 Haaland's 13 became 39; 13 more than normal captaincy
Wildcard 9 82 so far Five new players have contributed 43

One of each chip has already been played. The two directly additive scoring chips, Bench Boost and Triple Captain, supplied 34 extra points on those selected lineups. Wildcard and Free Hit cannot be valued in the same simple way: their effect depends on what the manager would otherwise have done.

What about previous seasons?

The same entry's public history contains two earlier finishes:

Season Points Overall finish
2024/25 2,318 1,300,238
2025/26 2,277 286,996

That is an improvement in rank between the two completed seasons, followed by a much stronger start this time. It is not evidence of a long record of elite finishes, and a nine-gameweek lead is not a final-season result.

What this run tells us

The striking feature is the variety of routes to a good score. GW2 depended heavily on Bruno captaincy. GW4 reached 100 despite a four-point captain. GW7 used Triple Captain to break into the top ten. GW9's new signings have done the work while Haaland returned four.

There are mistakes and setbacks in the same record: the below-average Free Hit, the GW8 rank drop, and points left on the bench. The rise was not a sequence of perfect calls. It was a series of big weeks, enough useful returns around them, and only one transfer hit.

We are looking backwards at the team currently on top, so successful picks naturally dominate the story. Copying today's leader will not recreate the points already scored. For the changing standings, see Top FPL Teams; to work through your own next moves, open the FPL planner.
